Establishing and maintaining consistent Health and Safety products is challenging for many businesses. We at Xact recognise that achieving full compliance can be very costly and time consuming. We have developed a service specification where we act as your External Competent Person.

We are different from the majority of other advisors in that we provide on site assistance in the formulation of all Health & Safety Policies and crucially we carry out all Risk Assessments with the Owner / Manager (Responsible Person) providing the necessary advice on any Control Actions which may arise from the Risk Assessments.

The Xact service is based on the guidelines issued under the ‘HSE statement to the external providers of Health & Safety assistance’ and ‘Getting specialist help with Health & Safety’.

Our External Competent Person service is:

  As it is based on actual risk assessments carried out on your premises.

  Our documentation is based on the detailed Risk Assessments completed at you premises by our technical experts, who have Health & Safety knowledge and experience in your specific field of operations.

  We give you practical control measures and a management action plan and, uniquely, we follow up by telephone and include further visits to ensure the action plan has been completed.

We provide on-going advice and visits, a minimum of twice during our normal contract period. In other words, we take the hassle out of compliance and allow you to concentrate on running your business.

• Emergency Cover
  In the event of a serious incident or accident on site resulting in a visit from the Health & Safety Executive, we provide expert on site presence during the visit at no extra charge.

  We provide updates in advance of any new Health & Safety Legislation.
• Health and Safety Manual
  We provide a manual for each location which contains all of the information on current legislation, training modules and importantly, all of the completed risk assessments and control actions for that location.
• Health and Safety Employee Handbooks
  We issue Employee Handbooks recognised by the Health & Safety Executive as an important part of an Employer’s communication with his employees and therefore a key part of compliance with Health & Safety Legislation. The handbooks are also a vital training tool in the key areas of activity such as Fire, Manual Handling, Slips, Trips and Falls etc
